Trecento, immersive
Five screens, one walk into the 1300s
Gaurs named Trecento Residences after the pre-Renaissance era of Italian art. For the launch, buyers walked into a room of five screens — four walls and the floor, around a model of the building — and spent two minutes inside the 1300s. I co-wrote the concept and storyboard, animated, and synced all five screens. It ran for two weeks at the site before launch.

The brief
Gaurs was launching Trecento Residences and invited potential buyers to a walk-in exhibition at the site. The brief went to Sparrow Interactive as tech partner, with Candy Shop as creative partner. Our job: make buyers feel the idea behind the name.
What we found
The Trecento is 14th-century Italy, the pre-Renaissance, remembered for its art. Few buyers would know the word. So the room had to explain it without a lecture, and the floor and the building model in the middle had to be part of the story, not just the walls.

The idea
A walk back in time. Years count backwards across the walls, then the room opens onto a 14th-century street and moves through an artist's studio, a royal court and a garden. At the end, all the art gathers into light and spirals down the floor into the building model at the centre, which lights up on cue: the spirit of the era, kept in the tower.

How it came together
Screen by screen. The storyboard planned every moment for all five surfaces at once: what each wall and the floor shows, and the line of text on screen. The references stay in the period, from Byzantine and Gothic painting to Pisano's sculpture and Calendario's architecture.
Across the room. Things travel between screens instead of repeating on each: music notes fly from a violinist on one wall to the next, a bee crosses the room, and a black painting and a white one collide and merge.
The floor. It has its own job: cobbles that move as if you're walking, a yin-yang as the paintings merge, grass in the garden, and the final swirl into the building.
Imagery. Midjourney and Photoshop for the period scenes, After Effects for the animation, Premiere Pro for the edit.
Sound. The soundtrack and voiceover were made at Candy Shop.
Sync. Four walls at 10:2.4 and a square floor, synced so all five play as one two-minute film. Sparrow Interactive ran the projection, hardware and sound system.

What shipped
A two-minute film across five screens — four walls and the floor — around a physical model of the building that lights up on cue, with spatial sound and voiceover, at the Trecento Residences site.
Outcome
Two weeks at the site from 1 October 2023, before the launch, for invited buyers.
The reaction: visitors were taken by the visuals and the idea behind the towers.
