TEDxDTU: Finding ‘I’ in AI

Finding yourself in the clutter of AI

I named the theme for TEDxDTU's April 2025 edition: Finding ‘I’ in AI. Then, on a five-person design team, I made the posters, reels and motion assets that carried it: the TEDx X turned into a maze of AI tools, a magnifying glass searching for the person, and flowing red particle swirls. The event ran on 16 April 2025, with speakers including Paras Madan, Raghav Garg and Saumya Singh.

The brief

TEDxDTU's 2025 edition needed a theme, and the visuals to carry it: posters and reels to build hype before the event, and motion assets for the day.

What we found

With a new AI tool for everything, the question worth a TEDx stage wasn't about AI itself. It was about where the person fits in among all of it.

The idea

Find the ‘I’ in AI. The word already holds the answer: the self sits inside it. Every visual is about searching, with a magnifying glass looking for the person among the tools.

How it came together

The theme. I named it: Finding ‘I’ in AI. An earlier route read "Finding yourself in AI"; the final line puts the self inside the word.

The posters. The TEDx X becomes a maze built from the names of AI tools — ChatGPT, Midjourney, Google Bard, Lensa, FaceApp, Alexa — with a figure searching it through a magnifying glass.

The reels. Red particles flow and swirl toward a centre. A portrait split red and blue has the TEDxDTU name orbiting the head at eye level. The recruitment reel, in January 2025, sent red cubes tumbling around the wordmark.

Colour. TED red, black and white throughout.

What shipped

The theme, posters, reels and the motion assets for the event.

Outcome

  • TEDxDTU ran on 16 April 2025 under the theme I named, with speakers including Paras Madan, Raghav Garg and Saumya Singh.
