The case film for United Colors of Benetton's Valentine's Day 2026 campaign, Love Has No Identity: a faceless campaign that showed only Benetton clothing and left the people to your imagination. Made through Candy Shop with Piyush Kumar, the film opens in stop motion, with the clothes moving on their own and nobody inside them.

The brief
Benetton wanted to join India's Valentine's Day conversation in a way that stayed true to its belief in inclusivity. The team's answer was Love Has No Identity: a faceless campaign that showed only Benetton clothing, rolled out across 200+ stores and on digital and CRM. My job was the case film that tells that story.
What we found
Representation is hard: however far you go to be inclusive, someone is left out. The campaign's insight was that absence can be as powerful as presence; you see the clothes and imagine the people. The film had to keep the same rule: no faces, no bodies, and it still had to feel alive.

The idea
Open on the idea itself. The film starts in stop motion: stepped frame by frame in the edit, the empty clothes move on their own, with nobody inside them, so you get the idea before a word explains it. The handmade rhythm echoes the in-store installations. From there the film moves to the campaign's in-store videos and its rollout, and ends on a question: in a world that keeps asking us to define ourselves, what if love was the one thing we never had to?
How it came together
The story. The film follows the campaign's own arc: the problem with representation, the insight, the faceless launch in stores and online, then the response.
Stop motion, then smooth. Only the opening is stop motion, built in After Effects and Premiere Pro by stepping and holding frames, so it reads as handmade rather than filmed. The in-store videos the film then shows play in smooth motion, as they did on the store screens.
What shipped
The final case film for Love Has No Identity.
Outcome. The campaign the film tells ran across 200+ Benetton stores, with over 30,000 walk-ins, 5M+ people reached, and 1M+ customers reached through CRM.
